Alison Doody

Alison Doody, born 11 November 1966 in Ireland, is an actress and model. She made her debut in a feature film with a tiny part in Bond film A View to a Kill (1985) she was later cast to portray the anti-Nazi archaeologist Elsa Schneider, in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989). There were also roles for Siobhan Dovan in A Prayer for the Dying (1987) Charlotte in Taffin (1988) as well as Rebecca Flannery in Major League II (1994). Doody was asked by a photographer to model who asked her to perform the role of a model. Then she began a career of commercial modelling. Doody was adamantly against glamour and nude work a clause which was extended to her acting profession. When she came to the director's notice for a James Bond film, Doody took on a part in A View to a Kill (1985). Doody was listed as one of the 12 most promising new Actors from 1986 in John Willis Screen World, Vol. 38. Doody had just turned 18 at the time she was cast in the role of Bond girl. Doody is the youngest Bond girl. A Prayer for the Dying (1997) which starred Mickey Rourke, also featured a smaller role as IRA Siobhan. Doody was unspoken as Archibald Craven's spouse Lilias as she appeared in his dream, 1987's adaptation from The Secret Garden. The Storyteller episode from 1988 was her first appearance in the main part of Sapsorrow, alongside John Hurt Dawn French Jennifer Saunders. She played opposite Pierce Brosnan, in the 1988 film Taffin. She then took on her most memorable role to date in the film Taffin as Austrian Archaeologist and Nazisympathiser Doctor. Doody co-starred in 1991 with Jonathan Pryce opposite the British miniseries Selling Hitler, which was an inspiration for the book fraud known as the Hitler Diaries. Doody later moved to Hollywood. She took over Cybill Shepherd in the L'Oreal spokesperson part. Then she played Flannery Sheen's girlfriend and his agent alongside Charlie Sheen, as Major League II became available in 1994. Doody made her acting comeback in 2003 when she played a minuscule part in the British comedy film The Actors, in which Michael Caine played herself at an awards show. Her roles include the TV movie adaptation of King Solomon's Mines in 2004 and a book about the Holocaust and the short film Benjamin's Struggle in 2005. Doody had a minor role in Danny Dyer's film The Rapture (2010). She was also set to play the lead role in The Asphyx remake, but the project was cancelled. Pam Jefferson was her character in the E4 comedy Beaver Falls for two seasons. She also starred as Pam Jefferson on We Still Kill the Old Way. The Almeria Tierra de Film Award was awarded to her on November 21, 2018. In addition, she was awarded a star at the Almeria Walk Of Fame.
